Five sunny days split between North Goa's beaches and Panjim's painted Latin quarter. Mornings on a sun lounger, afternoons on a scooter through villages where bougainvillea grows over old Portuguese walls, evenings at shacks with grilled kingfish and sangria. Goa is best slow.
Nine days along India's greatest heritage trail — the Taj at dawn in Agra, the pink-walled bazaars and rugged forts of Jaipur, and the white marble palaces of Udaipur reflected in still lakes. Cool mornings, golden afternoons, and the kind of architecture that makes you stop walking and just look up.
Seventeen days timed to the sakura bloom, end-to-end. Tokyo's neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood deep dive, Mt Fuji from the lakes, Kyoto's eastern temples and geisha district, day trips to Nara and Hiroshima, Osaka's food and Universal Studios. Cherry blossom season makes everything 30% more crowded and 100% more beautiful.
Seven days through the Vale — Dal Lake on a wooden shikara, the second-highest gondola ride in the world to Apharwat Peak above Gulmarg, meadow walks at Pahalgam, and Mughal gardens still laid out as the emperors saw them. Tulips in April, snow in winter, the saffron pink of October — every season is a different country.
Sixteen days from Seoul's neon to Gyeongju's tombs, Busan's beaches, and Jeju's volcanic coast. Autumn here is golden — palace courtyards lined with maples, hanok streets glowing at dusk, and seafood markets at their freshest. This itinerary balances big-city energy with the slower rhythm of historic towns and the wild south.
Ten days from Kuala Lumpur's skyscrapers and hawker streets to the cable cars and beaches of Langkawi, with a New Year's Eve fireworks show over the Petronas Twins as the centrepiece. Bookended with nasi lemak, satay, claypot rice, and bak kut teh.
Five days in the Beas valley — pine forests, snow above the tree line, a temple in a deodar grove that's older than most countries, and Old Manali's cafés that have been counter-culture HQ since the seventies. Snow in winter, alpine meadows in summer, and the Atal Tunnel making Spiti suddenly an option.
A week through the abode of clouds — limestone caves, double-decker root bridges grown over generations, waterfalls thundering off cliffs, and a river so clear the boats appear to float on air. Cool, rainy, green to the point of unreal. Best done October to May; the monsoon itself is too heavy.
Four foggy days in the Queen of the Hills. Walks along forested ridges in Landour, breakfast at the bakery that supplied Ruskin Bond's books, viewpoints into the snow-capped Garhwal range, and slow evenings on Mall Road as the mist comes in. The town is small — that's the point.
Five slow days where the Ganges leaves the mountains and the air still smells of pine. Yoga at sunrise, café-hopping in Tapovan, white-water rafting through Shivpuri, the Beatles Ashram covered in graffiti, and the lamp-lit Ganga Aarti every evening. A reset, in the middle of India.
A week of skyline views, super-trees, and hawker stalls. From the heritage shophouses of Kampong Glam and Little India to the rides of Sentosa and the lights of Marina Bay, Singapore packs cultures, cuisines, and architecture into one of the most walkable cities in Asia.
Four days at India's paragliding capital. Take-off at 2,400m from Billing, ride thermals over the Dhauladhar range, land at Bir's tiny landing field, eat your way through the Tibetan colony's cafés, and spend the slow afternoons at monasteries set in pine forests. Cool, calm, low-key.
Four days in one of the world's oldest living cities. Wooden boats at first light, lamp-lit aartis at dusk, the smoke of the cremation ghats always somewhere in the air. Walk the lanes blindly and you'll find a kachori shop, a sitar maker, a cow, a temple. Best done with no agenda and a notebook.
A north-to-south sweep of Vietnam in eight days. From Hanoi's narrow alleys and the legendary Train Street, an overnight cruise through Ha Long Bay's limestone karsts, then south to Da Nang for Hoi An's lantern-lit ancient quarter and Bana Hills' Golden Bridge. End in Ho Chi Minh City for war history and street-food chaos. Egg coffee, banh mi, and bun cha along the way.
